will there ever be an update with new textures...

I was wondering if there would ever be a UT2 update that will come with new textures/models...etc i really dont enjoy seeing most of my home airport populated with daedulus repaints and sometimes the wrong models used, and it makes little difference to the default FSX Traffic when the default ut2 planes are assigned to an airline. i had to purchase mytraffic x to replace the daedalus paints...

 I don't know whether Flight 1 will include new models and/or textures in any future updates.

you will find nearly all the latest models and textures freely available on websites such as AVSIM, Flightsim.co, flightsimmers.com, globusworld and others, to replace the Daedalus ones.

I fly mostly around the UK and Europe, and I hardly ever see a Daedalus now. They've all been updated, and cost me nothing, thanks to a number of dedicated and talented modellers and repainters.

 The UT2 dev's have always said there would be no texture updates as they are all available for free anyways. I feel for you though having to use the "other" models, they look like they were taken from FS98.

if I understand your message above, is it possible to download acft from AVSIM etc and add them the the UT2 database?

Sorry to bring back an old topic, but when you say "They've all been updated" do you mean you downloaded and updated the textures yourself from Avsim/Flightaim?

I mean that I updated them myself with freeware downloads.

Airlines are continually introducing new textures, for a variety of reasons. There are mergers, acquisitions, marketing changes, new airlines, and sometimes new and updated models. The airline industry is constantly changing. There is a website which charts some of these changes HERE, although I'm not sure how up-to-date it is.

Fortunately there are quite a few aircraft modellers and artists who are willing to give their time to issuing new textures, and it's one of the interesting things which UT2 can absorb is the constantly changing liveries.

You need PowerPack, which is free to registered UT2 owners. Get it from HERE.

It includes a very good Help file.
