Topic: Limiting # of aircraft loadedPosted: August-12-2012 at 9:57am |

Hello, I'm wondering if there is any way to tell UT to not load flights due to depart for some time after the airport enters my reality bubble (with me setting said time beforehand). It is a bit annoying to see gates being taken by planes that won't depart for hours, even days.
Thanks in advance for any help. |

There is a way to do it, using TrafficToolBox SDK. You can use it to temporarily remove any AI aircraft manually. The problem is that TrafficToolbox doesn't give departure times until just before departure.
There is a way to temporarily reduce UT2's AI traffic density in FSX. It's in the addons Menu. Maybe that's what you need. |

Thanks for the info. I can use SuperTrafficBoard as well, but I've found out that deleted flights don't stay deleted. Any way to do something about that?

That's correct. Deleted fights are only deleted for that session, both in SuperTrafficBoard and Traffic ToolBox.
Next time you run FSX the flights are back again. In FSX, in the Addon Menu> Ultimate Traffic there is an option to clear approach. I've not used it, but it might help you. |

Actually, the flights stay deleted only for a minute or two, before UT2 (I guess) regenerates them. Is there a way to keep them deleted for the entire session?

I thought STB and TrafficToolBox delete them for the whole session. If they don't, I've no other suggestions.

So, there's no other way to delete a plane for the entire session?

Alternatively, is there a way to tell UT2 to load new flights only when I tell it to during a sessions, without affecting flights already loaded?

If you already have UT2 AI turned up to maximum, then there is no way to increase it further within UT2.
Maybe there is a way, by downloading and installing packages from AVSIM, flightsim.co and others, installing them as BGLs, and turning them on and off in FSX when needed. |

I'm not sure I made myself clear, I want to stop the delete flight-flight reappears after a minute-delete again-it reappears again cycle that keeps happening within a session.

Yes, I understand what you want. I don't know any way to do this.

OK
Related question: When exactly does UT2 reload traffic within a session? I've read that it reloads when accesing the menu, that would explain why it keeps reloading on me all the time. Maybe I can find a way to get around this. |

There is no way round this. It is a function of Microsoft's SimConnect.
